Residential
Today, McClellan is home to over 950 residents living in historic homes, single-family dwelling, and apartment duplex communities.
The Historic Buckner District features 1930's era stucco and tile roof buildings that once housed Senior Military Officers and Non -Commissioned Officers. The larger Officers' quarters line the perimeter of Buckner Circle with the iconic Gazebo prominently situated in the center of the "The Park" . The Park is an enclosed area within Buckner Circle and is landscaped with numerous mature trees. The Non-Commissioned Officer's lived in sixteen one-story residential homes along Drennen Drive. Today these homes house singles, young families, and military retirees.
The Cane Creek residential communities are comprised of 318 single-family homes. These homes originally served as duplex homes to the soldiers and their families at the former Fort McClellan. These duplexes were modified to single family dwellings built on the previous footprint of the duplex homes and offer 3,000+ sq. feet of living space. For first-time home buyers, empty nesters, and our retirees, Cane Creek also offers redeveloped duplex homes that range from 1,300 to 1,500 square feet.
Summerall Homes is McClellan's newest residential community offering single-story stone and brick homes that range from 3,500 square feet and up. This secluded area is home not only to the residents but also to the deer and turkey that roam freely throughout the neighborhood.
Future plans call for further development of residential properties in McClellan's Longleaf Pine area. This beautifully wooded area features some of the highest elevations on McClellan with a panoramic view of the Choccolocco Mountains.
