McClellan offers a wide range of public recreational opportunities. We are an outdoor recreation haven dropped between Atlanta and Birmingham. Cyclists, runners, and walkers enjoy the pedestrian-safe roads on the property. We are directly across from the Chief Ladiga Trail, which begins in Weaver and ends in Smyrna, Ga., as the Silver Comet Trail. If you prefer the excitement of mountain biking or horse trail riding, the McClellan Bike Trails and Camp McClellan Horse Trails are located here as well.

For those who enjoy a slower pace, we have the Anniston Aquatic and Fitness Center and the Cane Creek Golf Course. Living and working here is guaranteed to excite and keep you happy and healthy.

The McClellan Bike Trail features the first National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) specific built trail in the State of Alabama. The inaugural Melee at McClellan race took place in March of 2020 with 2000 attendees and 600 of those racers. Phase I of the trails are ideal for those new to mountain bike riding, with smooth climbs and fast smooth descents, while Phase II provides the next level full of fast descents, rugged terrain and climbs to beautiful views. The McClellan Mountain Bike Trails provide great options to meet the experience each rider seeks. Click here to learn more.
