McClellan offers a wide range of public recreational opportunities. We are an outdoor recreation haven dropped between Atlanta and Birmingham. Cyclists, runners, and walkers enjoy the pedestrian-safe roads on the property. We are directly across from the Chief Ladiga Trail, which begins in Weaver and ends in Smyrna, Ga., as the Silver Comet Trail. If you prefer the excitement of mountain biking or horse trail riding, the McClellan Bike Trails and Camp McClellan Horse Trails are located here as well.
For those who enjoy a slower pace, we have the Anniston Aquatic and Fitness Center and the Cane Creek Golf Course. Living and working here is guaranteed to excite and keep you happy and healthy.
The Camp McClellan Horse Trails are comprised of 900+ acres transferred by the MDA to the Calhoun County Commission with the building and maintaining of the trails being conducted by the McClellan Chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of America, Alabama. The trails are open for horseback riding and primitive camping. The trails are currently open to the BCHA McClellan Chapter Monday – Sunday and open to the public on Saturday and Sunday. The fees for a day ride is $5.00 per vehicle and day ride and camping is $10.00 per vehicle. No fee for BCHA McClellan Chapter Members.Click here to learn more.
