BUCKNER HISTORIC DISTRICT

The houses in Buckner Historic District were built between 1930 and 1941 to house military officers and their families on base. Each home embodies the Spanish Colonial Revival design that was popular at the time, featuring terracotta roofing and stucco exteriors. Today, the Historic Buckner District is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and follows strict preservation measures. 

CANE CREEK HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION

The Cane Creek HOA borders the Cane Creek Golf Course on Avery Dr, Shipley Rd, Wirans Rd, Foxley Rd, Morton Rd, and parts of Ossington Ave and Littlebrandt Dr. These homes feature newly built houses and original duplexes converted into single-family homes.

SUMMERALL COMMUNITY

The Summerall Community spans LittleBrandt Dr, Millicent St, Belair Rd, Bray Rd, and Summerall Terrace. It features single-story homes proudly adorned with the American flag. During the Fort's operation, the homes were duplexes for the families of enlisted soldiers.

MCCLELLAN SENIOR LIVING

McClellan Senior Living is a retirement community which offers both independent and assisted living to ensure your loved one's needs are met in a warm environment. Residents are guided by medical professionals through the activities of daily life. Call (256) 403-6808 for more information.

CASEY ESTATES

Casey Estates is an apartment community for individuals over 62 years old. It features 49 units with a bedroom, living/dining room, full kitchen, and bathroom. Call (256) 820-3008 for more information.

ANNISTON FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH

Anniston First Baptist Church was founded in Anniston in 1882, but relocated to Morton Rd on McClellan in 2004. They are comprised of students, families, single adults, and seniors who love Jesus and living together for Him. They offer Sunday worship in-person and via livestream at 10:30 AM.

GRACE FELLOWSHIP REFORMED CHURCH

Grace Fellowship is a reformed church located on Summerall Gate Rd in the historic WAC Chapel, founded on the five sola statements of the Reformation: Scripture alone, by Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone, and for God’s glory alone. They offer Sunday worship in-person and via livestream at 10:15 AM.

HARMONY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP CHURCH

Harmony Christian Fellowship is located in the historic Silver Chapel on Buckner Circle. They are a modern non-denominational church with traditional values, offering Sunday worship at 10 AM and Wednesday Bible study at 6 PM.

CANE CREEK COMMUNITY GARDENS

Cane Creek Community Gardens is a 17 acre site owned by the Calhoun County Commission in partnership with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Calhoun County Master Gardeners volunteer to do most maintenance at the site as a service to the community, and they operate a greenhouse for demonstration and fundraising with several educational meetings per month.

FORT MCCLELLAN MILITARY CEMETERY

The Fort McClellan Military Cemetery was established in 1918 and is the resting place for 441 U.S. military personnel and civilians. In 2017, the cemetery underwent renovations for headstone realignments, and in 2020, the cemetery was transferred to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It is currently maintained by Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.

GERMAN ITALIAN MEMORIAL CEMETERY

The German Italian Memorial Cemetery at McClellan is a historic landmark at McClellan, where 26 German soldiers and 3 Italian soldiers are buried. When these soldiers died, they were given the same rights as an American soldier, including proper headstones. Every November, military officers from Germany and Italy are invited to perform a wreath-laying service, which is open to the public. It is currently maintained by Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.

MONTEITH AMPHITHEATER

The Monteith Amphitheater is a historic event venue built in 1937 and was used to activate the U.S. Army's 92nd Infantry Division in 1942, the second African American ID established during WWII. During Fort McClellan's operation, the theater hosted fight exhibitions, Broadway shows, and concerts. Call (404) 408-7210 for booking information.

SENIOR & THERAPEUTIC RECREATION CENTER

The Anniston Senior and Therapeutic Center is located at 980 Littlebrandt Dr. They offer social programs, activities, and events for independent seniors over 55 years old who live in Anniston city limits.
